Governance
Every number can name the pipeline that made it.
Without it: when a figure is wrong, nobody can say which pipeline produced it or when it changed.
Every entity — assets, views, models, pipelines — is declared in configuration, versioned, and published only after audit. Lineage is stored as data you can query, not a diagram someone drew once.
How it works
Four steps, from declaration to lineage.
- 1Declared in configurationEvery entity: assets, views, models, pipelines.
- 2VersionedEach change is a commit you can name.
- 3Published after auditWrite, audit, then publish.
- 4Lineage kept as dataYou query it; nobody has to draw it.
In pAInocchio, in practice
- Write-Audit-Publish (WAP) pattern for controlled data releases
- Git-like versioning for all the entities (pipelines, models, views, documentation, etc.) entities
- Full lineage tracking across all pipelines and all the transformations
- Quality checking capabilities on all data—even when pipeline results aren’t yet consumed by legacy applications
- Meets regulatory requirements for auditability and compliance
